MIXED ABILITY CLASSES
These classes are open to all levels, including beginners. Classes generally begin with a short meditation followed by a series of asanas or poses, some breathing exercises and relaxation at the end. The sessions are fairly dynamic without being strenuous; you should feel energised and relaxed by the time you leave!
PREGNANCY YOGA
“In order for a woman to nurture and protect the newcomer she must nurture and protect herself”
These classes aim to help you develop your own instincts so that you can both look after yourself and nourish your baby at this special time. Gentle asanas and breathing techniques promote relaxation and self-awareness, giving you the tools you need to prepare for the arrival of your new baby. Classes include:
- Pranayama - breathing exercises give rise to mindfulness, help to make space for internal organs (& baby!), increase oxygen to the womb and encourage the bond between mother and baby
- Exercises to help make your pregnancy more comfortable and enjoyable
- Visualisation techniques help to focus the mind. Feeling calm and focused helps you to feel more in control during labour as you work together with your baby to bring her into the world
- Practical tips and exercises to help you cope during labour and child birth
- Building core strength and stamina in preparation for labour, childbirth and beyond!
Suitable for all levels including complete beginners.
MOTHER & BABY YOGA
Being a new mum can be a wonderful and sometimes overwhelming experience. These classes aim to offer support in those early days by bringing you together with other new mums with babies of a similar age, as well as gentle stretching exercises to help you feel revitalised after pregnancy and childbirth. Classes include:
- exercises to maintain good health, rebuild core strength and flexibility and promote relaxation
- relaxing poses which nourish the bond between you and your baby
- an opportunity to chat with other mums so you can share experiences
- tea and cake!
SMALL GROUP
If you have a group of interested friends and a suitable space in your house, it can be fun to practise together as a small group. This enables you to both practise at a time to suit you and benefit from more individual attention from the teacher in order to further your practice. This can also be arranged at a another venue, such as a hall, at an additional cost to cover hall fees. If your group is smaller than 4 students, please contact me on 01326 372419 or Lucinda@yogainpenryn.co.uk to discuss other options.
ONE-TO-ONE
I am able to offer one-to-one tuition in the comfort of your own home or at a small studio in Falmouth. These classes give you the opportunity to focus on your individual needs in a more private setting. Recommended particularly for those with injuries, during pregnancy, if you are unable to attend the classes or simply in order to further your practice. Available evening, daytime or weekends, call Lucinda on 01326 372419 or email Lucinda@yogainpenryn.co.uk to discuss a suitable time and venue for you.
